Comments: I would like to extend my personal gratitude to your Department, Local 772 members and their families for the caring and generosity extended to Dave and Troy along with Jerry's family members. I am a Lt. at Jerry's station on the shift following Jerry's. Before everything went public even within our Department, I was informed there might be a bad situation developing for Brother Perdomo. As the days went on, with the "news" vans camped out at the station, all the speculation of a positive outcome for Jerry began to turn. We were proud of the efforts of Dave and Troy and all wanted to do our part to help. That was the hardest part, not being able to do much except flip thru the news channels, check the internet and facebook for any insight. As the real story began to come to light our hearts sank with disbelief. We have yet to be at a conclusion to this sad episode. There will be no formal grieving process as the family has turned down our departments offer for such. There is an ever expanding investigation into the southern end of the drug trail. We as a profession (Fire Fighter) have the unique ability to go from hero to zero from day to day. Local 3254 has been hit hard with the later public perception lately. But from the inside looking out we should be nothing but proud for all of our brothers and sisters. We are human after all...not perfect...susceptible to all the temptations and frustrations of the world. I just want to thank you all for the showing of compassion and caring given without question. This shows why ours is a profession only those involved will ever understand. Thank you Bangor Fire Fighters Local 772. Lieutenant Paramedic Mitch Ransom Local 3254
