LEVANT - Robert "Bob" N. Brown, 66, husband of Jane (Vose) Brown, died April 24, 2013, at home surrounded by his family and faithful canine companion, Bear. Bob was born April 11, 1947, in Bangor, the son of Harold J. and Marjorie (Payson) Brown.

He was a resident of Levant for 37 years. Bob worked for the Bangor Fire Department for 20 years and with his father in the family business, H.J. Brown & Son Painting & Carpentry. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 45 years, Jane, are two children, Robert Brown Jr. and wife, Tammy, of Hampden and Leslie Brown-Smith and husband, Gary K., of Hermon; grandchildren, Robert Brown III, Jacob Brown and Julia Brown, all of Hampden, Kristine Munson and fiancé, Kevin Lovely, of Bangor, Samantha Munson and Shawn Chapman of Hermon and Cody Munson and wife, Brianna, of North Carolina; great-granddaughter, Khloe Jane Lovely of Bangor; cousins; and his beloved canine companion, Bear.

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Bob's life will be held 1-3 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at his home. A service of Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St. Bangor. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.BrookingsSmith.com.
