Fire Lieutenant Delivers Baby

Congratulations to the members of Bangor Fire Department of Engine Company 1. Yesterday June 6, 2013. While at Eastern Maine Medical Center on another EMS run, a woman went into labor in the parking lot near the Emergency Department ambulance entrance. Fire Lt David Dow went to the aid of the woman, recognizing that delivery was imminent. Lt Dow, and the members of Engine 1 and Rescue 1 delivered the baby boy in the woman's car. Staff from the ER assisted in the efforts and brought mom and baby boy to the 7th floor. Our rescues and engine companies assist incoming patients often, and this time was something special. Perhaps as stork for the Engine is in order? Good Work!
