Aggressive work by the first in Companies lead to a quick containment of the “All Hands” fire on outer Essex street just after 4pm on March 21. First in reports had fire showing from windows on the second floor of the residential structure. The first due companies were Engine's 6&1, Rescues 6&1, Ladder 1 and FC 1.

Engine and Rescue 5 were dispatched with the declaration of the “All Hands Working Fire”. Engine 5 operations consisted mainly of salvage and Rescue 5 operations consisted of exterior ground ladder operations followed by salvage.
